BritainShrinkers - Day Trips to Paris

In the 2010 London tourbook, RS recomends www.britainshrinkers.com as a good way to day trip to London. It looks like a roundtrip Eurotrain ticket and one day travelpass for Paris runs around $160-180 per person. Has anyone used this group? This price sounds great in comparison to booking directly on the Eurotrain website...

Becky, go to the Eurostar website and see what a return ticket would cost for your date of travel. If you book far enough ahead it could be as low as 59 GBP (US$100 approx.) and the Paris one day Mobilis pass is less than 6 euro (US$10 approx.) By the way, you don't need first class on the Eurostar for a 2hr & 15 min. journey, so check the economy class fares.

To get the 59 GBP return (roundtrip) fare, you have to register at www.eurostar.com as a resident of the UK. If you've already visited the site and registered as a resident of the US, clear the cookies from your Web browser and register again, this time choosing the UK. You do not have to enter a UK address.

The price for a one-day, zone 1-2 Mobilis pass is 5.90 EUR. It will cover all your Metro and RER rides, bus rides, and the Montmartre funicular.

If you want a guided tour, the Paris L'Open Tour hop-on hop-off buses would be a good choice. There are four routes and the price for a full day is 29 EUR.

I've been reading the other blogs. I'm going to give it a chance and register as a UK resident and see where that gets me! Another question, how does the seeting apply..the little video on the eurosta websits shows seating arrangements in groups of four. Do we book face to face, side by side?? Hey,I guess it doesn't matter, we all get there at the same time!
