Britain Video Montage

Hello - my husband and I took a trip to Britain in October 2007. We visited London, York, Haworth, N. Wales, The Cotswolds, and Bath. He made a film of our photos and videos, and when we finally got high speed internet recently, he was able to post them on YouTube.

The visual quality of YouTube leaves a lot to be desired. The impact of facial expressions and other details are pretty much lost, save in close-ups. We think that the rhythm and flow can still be appreciated, and I hope you can relax and enjoy these when you have some time to give to them.

There are four numbered videos and they average about 7-8 minutes in length. (The original full-length video was 30 minutes long. It was hard for my husband to divide these up as he feels the unbroken flow of the journey is a large part of its reward. )

All four videos can be found here:

One has to cut and paste in the address line to get to the videos.
BTW: The videos are numbered Vol1 thru Vol4, but they are listed in reverse order visually. One must choose each number, and it makes a big difference.

Thanks for viewing! :-)

Thanks Richard. Sorry the reply took so long. My wife put this link here and I just found out about it.

Too bad the links can't work from the posting.

Ummm...no, not at all, Nancy. I was just making note of the fact that unless one manually selects #1 first, and so on, the YouTube site will play the videos in reverse order. That's because we posted them to YouTube in the proper 1-2-3-4 order, but the Youtube site (and it's not that obvious) displays them with the most recent upload listed first.

Sorry if my suggestion offended you, that was certainly not my intent. I hope that you will view, and enjoy, the videos.

Just wanted to thank you for posting the videos. My first trip to Europe was pretty much the same as yours. Though I have been fortunate to go to other places, it was the trip that changed my life and I enjoyed watching and revisiting those places. Loved the music choices and how happy everyone looked.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the kind words Leslie.

My first trip to Europe changed my life, too. I remember after that first trip I was sad when my personality slowly changed back to what it was before the trip. I began to think of "European Man" as the alter-self I wanted to encourage. :-)

The England video is from my second trip abroad and I am glad to think it gave pleasure. (I wish the visuals were better. Even Youtube's high quality setting doesn't allow for good viewing. And expressions are lost.)

England is a pretty great place.

Terri & Mike - wonderful videos. I take some too and wish i had the time (and skill) to produce such a beautiful keepsake. Brought back memories of our visits to London and Bath - never been to York. Thank you

You are welcome, Iain. And thanks for your kind words.

I look forward to visiting England again someday. It'd be nice to make it a good long stay - a year would be nice. :-)

I have been reading these forums for a while. Used some of its info for my trip to Italy and France in December. BUT tonight I registered to reply for two reasons.
1.I watched your four videos and loved them. My next trip is definately going to be alot like yours.
B. So many forums seem to have people like Nancy now. Why do the bother with their negative crap?

Wow - Thank you Gary.
I'm so glad you got into the video. For me it is a ride. Thanks again for your generous post!

I hope to explore your portion of England on the next visit. We came close but went into Wales as we neared Liverpool.

Your country felt comfortable and exciting to me. Loved it. :-)

Cheers!

Mike
