Britain in 3 weeks or less

We are planning a 18 - 20 day trip to Britain this June. Don't really know where to start...any ideas? We would like to see London, Bristol, Wales, Ireland and maybe some of Scotland.

Sheree, Given the locations you listed, my suggestion would be to start in Ireland and then progress to the other countries. With only a very short three weeks, you won't have a lot of time to spend in any of the locations. I'm a bit curious on why Bristol is on the list, as it's not one of the "usual" tourist destinations? A few thoughts..... > Ireland - you may only have time for Dublin and Belfast, along with a few day trips. You can fly from Ireland to Scotland (I'd use a flight from Belfast to Edinburgh). > Scotland - Edinburgh and day trips for a few days would be good. The local tour firms can provide one-day or multi-day trips to Loch Ness, the Highlands or other locations (details in the Guidebook). > Wales - which towns are you considering? > England - Plan for at least four days in London, as there's SO much to see and do. Some other places you could consider are York (easy to see on the way down from Scotland), Bath and the Cotswolds. You might find it helpful to have a look at Guidebooks for each of the areas, as those will provide good information on hotels, restaurants, transportation, sightseeing, etc. Good luck with your planning!

@Keith, My copy of the RS England Guidebook is a few years old, but Bristol is not mentioned at all. It's shown on the Map in the front of the book, but the lettering is "grayed out" which means it's not "recommended". OTOH, the label for Bath is shown in bold face type. Click on the "Books" tab at the top to have a look at the product detail for the England 2013 Guidebook. I had a look at the Bristol tourism website, and didn't realize there was so much to see and do there. I've flown out of Bristol airport, but haven't spent any time in the city. I was surprised to see that the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovilton was listed as one of the Bristol attractions. I have been there, and as I recall it's some distance from Bristol. Perhaps I'll have to put Bristol on my list for a future visit? Cheers!

Yeovilton is about 40 miles south of Bristol, so it is a bit of a stretch to call it a Bristol attraction.
