We will be in Bristol, Wessex area, England during the first 10 days in September 2013. First of all, any idea what the weather tends to be like in September in the Bristol area? 2nd Any ideas of really quaint special places to visit. I know Bath is one. Looking for suggestions. We will have a hire car and not looking to travel huge
distances. Whew, bit of a big ask I guess! Thank you!
Firstly Bristol itself is one the most interesting and vibrant cities in England. The weather could be good in September which is often one of the best months although noone could say it won't rain during your visit. If you want quaint local places Wells and Glastonbury are both within an easy drive over the Mendips and Wells has a beautiful cathedral with lots of other medieval buildings and streets. Avebury in Wiltshire is a prettier place than Stonehenge with its own stone circle. Bradford on Avon is an old town just beyong Bath well worth seeing. There are lots of villages in North Somerset and Wiltshire in easy reach and if you are prepared to drive for a couple of hours Salisbury with another historic and beautiful cathedral.
Thank you David. Your information a great help. Much appreciated.
