We are here! We have a little mini and unfortunately it isn't an automatic.Oh well, this just makes it more of an adventure. Anyone been in this area? We are in Hailsham, what shouldn’t be missed? We are going to Lewes today as suggested.

If you are going to Lewes Brighton is only 7 miles further on and has the Royal Pavilion and a nice pier.
You might also want to consider Battle Abbey, the site of the battle of Hastings: 1066 and the last successful invasion of Britain.

You could take in Hastings and Rye on the same trip.
Great Dixter House is nice if you like that kind of thing.
