Can any recent visitors (or residents) of London confirm if the Bramah museum has reopened after its renovation? The web site says closed until "early 2009," but we have just reached the mid-year point and I see no updates there.
Is there a contact link on the website where you could email them to ask?
I e-mailed the museum, but so far there has been no reply.
I tried calling the museum directly this morning and did not get an answer. The number wasn't disconnected as far as I could tell - just kept ringing.
I was there in March 2008. I asked about a postcard of the giant teapot, and was told by an employee that, "Sadly, Mr. Bramah had died recently and no one was sure if the museum would continue." It was a small, quirky museum, just the way I like them, but I wouldn't hold my breath that it will re-open soon, or at all.
I am very sorry to hear the news about Mr. Bramah. But I appreciate your letting me know what you learned. Thanks.
For anyone interesting in knowing....
The Bramah Museum has begun to respond to e-mails once again. They announce that they will be reopening sometime in 2010 (no specifics). Too late for my trip, but good news nonetheless.
Matt,
That's great news! I was just in London and was told by our walking tour guide that the museum had closed after the owner's death but she did not say anything about reopening. thanks for the update-
We're going to London in 2 weeks, and were really interested in visiting the Bramah Museum. Oh, well, maybe next time!
