We are travelling to Dover and then onto London England and are looking for hotels or alternatives for accomodating 5 travellers. Many hotels do not seem to be able accomodate all 5 of us. We have 4 adults and 1 teenager. Any suggestions? Thanks,
LIZ
In two weeks our family of 5 (parents and kids 16 to 24 years old) will be spending a week in London. In researching the trip, I found the same accommodation problems you noted for 5 people. So I decided to rent a two bedroom flat in Greenwich for the week. The price is about half of what it would cost for two hotel rooms.
The other advantages are two full bathrooms, a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. Travel into central London will take a bit longer but not too bad, I hope. I rented the apartment through a reputable site and did a lot of double checking. Everything appears legit. I'll be sure to report back what our experience was like.
We used vrbo.com to book a flat for a week in Sept. in London for a family of 6. My coworkers have had great success with vrbo. Good luck on your search.
We have a family of 5 and have been traveling abroad quite a bit this year and I have had great luck with booking.com. It's search function allows you to put in 5 people and will let you know when "family rooms" are available, or when you will require two rooms and shows your total price. I usually double check the reviews on trip advisor, but the booking.com reviews have been very accurate so far. I have also used vrbo often with excellent results. Don't rule out B&Bs - I will email directly to see if they can accommodate larger groups and have been pleasantly surprised with their offers. Enjoy your trip!
