I prebooked everything I could before coming to London, including Royal Day Out which gave us preferred, timed entry for Queen's Gallery and any time entry for Royal Mews and Buckingham Palace today. We didn't realize the combo ticket also gave us priority entry...just had to show ticket to warden at gate and were ushered right in ahead of the masses waiting in line. Word to the wise, especially if you're coming this month or next...book everything you can before you come. Lines and crowds have, been horrendous. But we've had a great time!
Dellinda, Great tip!! Another idea for people to consider. My wife and I were in London a few years back and decided to go in early January. The days, of course, are much shorter and the weather is cool, but there were virtually NO lines anywhere we went. At the Tower of London, for example, we arrived about 30 minutes after opening time and there were 2 people ahead of us. The crown jewels room, with the moving walkway, was empty. We just kept taking steps backwards to look in more detail!! As I said, the main drawback for us was the short daylight hours, but given the lack of crowds it was worth it!
