Blenheim Palace

We are traveling by Brit Rail and will be at Morton on Marsh on a Friday afternoon and a full day Saturday. Can we expect to get to and from Woodstock by bus to see the Palace from MIM. I can not find any info on the bus schedules that I can understand for that area

There are no direct buses from Moreton in Marsh to Woodstock, you would have to change several times and it would take 3 hours. You should take the train from Moreton in Marsh to Oxford, 35 minute ride thentake the Gloucester Green bus no. 20 to Woodstock, its a 30 minute ride. There is a train that leave Moreton in Marsh every hour, same to return. When you arrive in Moreton in Marsh on Friday, check at the train station for the times.

Thank you, Robin. I am hoping to be able to make it to the Blenheim Palace. Your plan makes it seem possible.

Don't know if this helps or not but my son and I took a bus from Oxford to the palace. It was a very easy trip but it was almost 10 years ago so I'm not at all certain about the details.

We met up with the nicest family-another single mom with her two kids. The three children had a wonderful time together-my son really enjoyed getting to meet some locals his age.

Do allow ample time to visit Bleinheim Palace and the grounds, gardens. I was there in Nov and only had an hour to visit since they were closing earlier than I thought.allow at least 2 hours. ck hours ahead.

Depending on the time of year you are going. If the gardens are still in bloom, etc., you will need more then 2 hours if you want to see everything. The butterfly house is worth seeing, its great seeing all the different types and walking among them.
