I need to get from Billund Airport to Bredsten. Are there any buses that run around there? Or would I have to take a taxi? How much do taxis cost in Denmark? Is there much to do around Billund/Bredsten/Jelling/Vejle and is it easy to get around there? Thanks in advance.
Bredsten is a small village out in the middle of the Danish countryside (just like Billund airport!). However, there are public bus services from the airport to Bredsten, though not that often. But, it is reliable and works well. Don't spend costs on a taxi (very expensive in Denmark). go the the airport's own website (www.billundairport.dk), click on "To and from the airport", then chose "Airport and public buses". You will be let to a page which shows all the public buses from/to Billund Airport (Nice hazzlefree airport by the way!). Bus line 244 direction to the city of "Vejle" makes a stop in Bredsten ca. 30 mins. after Billund airport. You pay the driver upon entering the bus. But, do check the schedule, as the service is infrequent, especially during the evenings and weekends. I cannot think of much to do in Bredsten. Without a car you are dependent on the public bus. I would chose to go to Aarhus for sights and sound. have fun there!
Dk has an excellent public transportation system so I'm sure you can get from the airport to Bredsten. (Not familiar with Bredsten but will do some research and try to get back to you here.) When are you going? One of my favorite places in Dk is Legoland, right next door to the airport. Great fun for adults too, much more so than the Legoland in Calif. Jelling has the Jelling stone from Viking times.
Vejle has a great modern art museum and a castle. Will try to get you some websites with info. on all this. Anne
