Anybody here have any information on BigBus Tours in London? From what I have read, it looks pretty good for a 1st-timer in London. It's about $25 for the whole day. Step-on, step-off at any of the 70 bus stops. They also have a combination deal that includes admission to the tower of London. Information or reviews, anyone?
It's great Jim. There are two companies offering it. I think the other is the Big Red Bus company. Go with the one with the most stops.
I do these every time I'm in London (probably 6 times by now.). One of them also offers a free Thames hop on/off boat cruise.
The tickets you can buy from them are great, with most of them, you can skip the line. The free transportation all over the city is nice too.
Anyhoo, that's my 2cents!
I believe the hop-on/hop-off bus tours are some of the best deals anywhere. They will give you a great orientation of the city and allow you to stop when and where you want.
Whenever I'm in a new city that offer them, I take it.
As the others have said, hop on hop off buses are a great way to see the sights and get your bearings. I used this company in London in 2006 and they were very good, lots of stops, a Thames cruise, good commentary. And just as a plug for the company, in 2001 I was in London in winter and was the only one on the bus... so they went off their path for me and dropped me right where I needed to be to save me a wet and cold walk!

Not only are their tours usually comprehensive, you usually get a discount if you use their service in another city within a certain time period. So if you have multiple destinations, see if one of the companies offers this discount.
