Big bus tour in London or not.

We will be staying in London for three days. Should we take the big bus to see major sights and if we do should we get the oyster? Thanks for the help

Oyster cards are not valid on the Big Bus tour or any other sightseeing tour, only on normal buses. Only use a sightseeing tour if you really want the commentary, otherwise there are much cheaper ways to see the city. The 11 (Liverpool Street station to Chelsea) and 15 (Tower of London to Oxford Street) bus routes in particular cover a lot of the big sights for a normal fare.

Yes, I know I can't use the oyster for the big bus, but we have to get from our hotel in hampstead, to the main district. We were thinking of the big bus because we are told exactly where we should be going to see the sights. I don't Know, London at all and wonder what the more enjoyable way to see London in three days would be.

Use the hop on/hop off bus to get a panoramic tour of the city. Stay on the bus for a complete circuit or circuits. The buses run too infrequently to be used to visit attractions, you will spend too much time waiting for the next bus. Get the overview with the bus, then use public transportation to visit the attractions.
