Is the Gatwick Express the best way to get into London from Gatwick Airport? Do we need to make a reservation in advance for this train? Any other good options that won't take too long?
Thanks!!
Gatwick Express takes you right into London Victoria Station and a tube connection. As I recall Paddington on the Circle or District line is the stop for Sussex Gardens.
Take a Southern train to Victoria (much cheaper than the Gatwick Express) and then the Circle line to Paddington. If you wish, buy a one-day travelcard at the Southern ticket office with your train ticket. Your total cost for train and tube will then be £10. No reservations are required on either Southern trains or the GEX.
Thanks for the suggestions! I was thinking that Southern might be a good option because money is definitely going to be an issue! Is it going to be easy to find the train at Gatwick? They are in the Southern Terminal of the airport, right? Thanks again!
South terminal? Yes. Easy to find the train? Yes.
