best transsport from London Euston to Heathrow

Arrive in Euston July 24. What is quickest, easiest route to Heathrow Terminal 5?? Also suggestions for overnight for departure to Boston at 11:20 a.m. Thanks

I would recommend changing at Green Park, but instead of following the signs for a transfer come up to the ground level by following the signs for way out, then go back down again for the Piccadilly. The way the station levels are this way is much easier with luggage.

RU arriving at Euston, planning to spend the night, then leave the next day? If so the Heathrow Express or Connect from Paddington Station are the quickest options to Heathrow.

By the time you get from Euston to Paddington (by Tube or taxi) and then wait for the next Heathrow Express or Heathrow Connect train, the trip will take nearly as long as simply taking the Tube all the way. While the fare on the Heathrow Connect isn't too bad, the Heathrow Express is pricey. Take the Tube all the way: Victoria Line from Euston to Green Park and the Piccadilly Line from there to Terminal 5. The trip takes just under one hour. You should be at Heathrow a full three hours before your plane's scheduled departure. If you leave Euston at 07:15, you'll arrive at Terminal 5 at 08:12.

Changing from the Victoria to Piccadilly Line at Green Park is a bad idea due to very long corridors and stairs. If I were staying in the Euston area I'd just walk or get a bus to Kings Cross and get the Piccadilly there.

Philip, If Mercedes doesn't want to walk from Euston to King's Cross, is taking the Northern Line from Euston to Leicester Square and the Piccadilly Line from there to Heathrow any better than the first route I suggested?

It's probably better than Green Park but I can't remember how far you have to go up and down there. Seriously, Euston station is very close to Kings Cross, probably less than a ten minute walk. Or if you have heavy luggage there are many bus routes from the forecourt of Euston station that will take you there - only two stops.

Its a two hour and 12 minute train trip from Kings Cross to Boston, changing at Grantham (where Margaret Thatcher came from). There's a frequent service. Or do you mean Boston, America?

I cannot wrap my head around the last comment! I believe that I am going from Euston to Heathrow! How much does the tube to Heathrow cost? Is there a dedicated train that makes no stops? Thank you all.

Aha... others have provided the hotel answers, so I will come back in about the journey to Heathrow. Others have made valid suggestions about getting to Kings Cross for the Piccadilly Line to Heathrow. There is no train, at all, dedicated or not, from Euston to Heathrow. Not above ground; not Underground. If you arrive at Euston (nosey minds wonder why Euston?) you only have so many choices. What time into Eustin, by the way? It will make a vast difference to which of the choices I can seriously recommend - so I won't try to sway you one way or the other until we have a time of day. July 24 is a Tuesday. Choices: a) Taxi (if they will take you such a short distance), Walk (10 to 15 minutes, to the left down Euston Road), bus (2 stops from the bus station right outside from one of many frequent buses), or Underground (Northern Line Bank Branch inbound or Victoria Line outbound - both 1 stop) to Kings Cross / St Pancras Underground and join the Heathrow direction Piccadilly Line. b) Taxi to the airport and be prepared to pay big. c) Outside the station to Euston Road and turn right, walk one block to Euston Square Underground go down many stairs to the westbound Hammersmith and City Line or Circle Line to Paddington and go upstairs to the Heathrow Express or Heathrow Connect train to Heathrow. Truly there aren't many other choices.

I am not dedicated to Euston station but I am travelling from Keswick, via Penrith, to London on July 27. This jorney involves arrival at Euston Station. I thought I may as well go directly to Heathrow for overnight because my plane for Rome leaves Heathrow 7:05 a.m on Thurday July 28. I arrive in Euston at 13.00 on Tuesday July 27, 2012. This last post is correct for dates and times! Thanks again.

Not sure if I understand your question correctly: "is there (Tube?) train from Euston to Heathrow that doesnt make stops? No. All tube trains stop at all stations along their route- basically there is a single track and they cant get around the train ahead. its not like some (railway) trains which run on an express line and dont stop at stations along the route. The Heathrow Express train (from pddington to Heathrow) is non-stop but the more pricey option

The cash fare for a single ticket on the Tube from central London (zone 1) to Heathrow (zone 6) is £5.30. If you have an Oyster card with some pay-as-you-go pounds on it, the off-peak fare is £2.90. Rather than going directly to Heathrow, you could spend the afternoon and evening in London before taking the Tube to the airport. If you do that, you could store your bags at Euston while you explore a bit of London. Buy a one-day zone 1-6 travelcard (£8.50) at the Euston Underground station. It will cover all your rides in London and your ride to Heathrow.
