We will be staying one night in Edinburgh. We are trying to find the closest to the Waverly Train station and the very best price possible. Breakfast included would be great. We don't care if it's an Inn, Guest House or Hotel. Just need it very affordable...I'm from Canada and the pound is pretty high if converted...if you get my drift... Thanks. :)

If these are really your criteria I would just go to Expedia, Priceline or whatever site you prefer and see what's available. Once you have found places you like you could contact those places individually and try and get a better price if that's really an issue. Expedia has a really good mapping service to show your proximity to sites. I've been looking in April and there many fine looking places relatively near the station (<1 mi.) for around $80US/night on a variety of nights so unless you're hitting a festival or something seasonal I think there are probably reasonable places to be found for reasonable money - even with the pound conversion. If you're firm on your date(s) book as early as possible for the best deal. Good luck,

For location you can't beat The Royal British Hotel. It is literally across Princes St. from Waverly station. But we haven't stayed there in over 5 years, so check out the ratings on TripAdvisor and other sites. They had a great included breakfast when we did stay there.

Shelley, I stayed at Hotel Ceilidh Donia when in Edinburgh last year, and would highly recommend it. However, it's not close to Waverly station, but an easy few minutes by Taxi. They provide a good breakfast. I can appreciate your sentiments about the exchange rates, as I have to deal with the same thing. The exchange rates are about the same at the present time between Pounds Sterling and both the U.S. and Canadian dollar. Happy travels!

Thanks everyone for your advice. Tod, if you find something for that price, let me know. I haven't seen anything for that price at all. The other suggestions look like wonderful places and ideal locations however, I feel these are not in our budget. Anyone else, found a cute B & B or something that meets my thoughts of a Best BUDGET accomadation. :) I feel that something in and around $120-$130(Canadian) or less would be in our budget

Highly recommend Smoothhound.com. We used them for Uk, Scotland, etc. very easy to use website. It gives great information, location, price. Then check it out on trip advisor.

Hello, try looking through Hostelbookers.com. Not just Hostels, has guest houses, B&B's and hotels. Lists prices in Canadian as well if you choose that option, so you don't need to do the conversion.
