My sister and I are traveling to Ireland soon and would like to stay one night in a castle. We are looking for moderate accommodations that provde the true Irish experience, rather than a touristy one. We don't necessarily need the 5-star treatment and aren't interested in spas and golf courses. Can anyone recommend a castle or two that fits this description? We have two weeks, and a fairly loose itinerary, so we're not limited to any one area.

Check out killianecastle.com . We have reservations here for this September. Since we haven't been there yet, I cannot say exactly how it is. It looks fantastic, and we are not into the touristy things either. I think Irish people are more likely to stay here than people from abroad.
