Besides Edinburgh, what are the best bets for weather and driving 7 days in Scotland in April? What are must sees?

lynn, i love scotland, so by car try oban, gateway to isle of mull, by ferry. glasgow city, another favorite with glasgow art school, mavelous macintosh design and take a tour with a student guide. the clydeside maritime museum gives great view of industrial life in the 1800's. check rick's book, and the graffiti wall for more.

As the previous poster commented there are many places to visit in Scotland. The weather in Scotland is always variable. Bring your Goretex Jacket (I like one with a hood) and never let a little rain stop you. IF I had 7 days in Scotland, I would spend a couple in Edinburgh, then I would head North. If you are interested in castles, then head north on the A93. There is spectacular scenery with Balmoral and lots of castles in Aberdeenshire. Another route would be to head north again, but stay on the A9. If there is a show or concert scheduled stay in Pictlochry, or alternatively stay the night in Dunkeld and check out the music bar and enjoy the countryside. Head further north to Inverness. From here you can do day trip--Black Isle, Culloden, or to Speyside distilleries. Or you could continue driving south along the north bank of Loch Ness toward Fort William. You can then wend your way south through Glencoe or take a coastal drive to Oban. There's a terrific site www.viamichelin.com that can give you times estimates for the routes.
