I will be staying a week in London in June with my husband and two sons, nearly 21 and 18. I'm looking for apartments with two bedrooms or hotels but would like suggestions for which areas would be best for them. They will want to go out on their own some of the time. Thanks everyone in advance!

Earl's Court...especially for your sons. Some pubs in the area tend to cater to a younger crowd. (The 18 year old can legally drink.)

A couple of blocks from the tube station, plenty of smaller restaurants, take-away shops, pubs and small grocers nearby. 15-20 minutes by tube into central London but still in zone 1.
