Bed & Breakfasts in England

We've traveled to England many times, and the British Tourist Agency has always given me the URL's for the location we were going to, and I could check out all the B&B's in that area. I'm not seeing they offer that service any longer. We will be visiting the Cotswolds next year (and I'm already thinking about this). Does anyone have a site you use to locate B&B's? Thanks.

if you Google "Cotswold villages" you will get maps and names of villages; each village page lists hotels, B&Bs, camping etc (probably paid adverts). I tend to use English guide books

Re not booking ahead, be careful of weekends. Cotswolds are very popular with the Englsih, especially in Summer. I would suggest booking ahead for Friday and Saturday nights. (thats what we do)Otherwise you may spend a lot of time looking for a room

Thank you all. We used to never book ahead and just looked when we got there - it worked; however, now we ALWAYS book in advance - works better for us. Thanks for your suggestions.

All you have to do is to Google the village you want...I never book B&B's a head of time. I find them as I go and have never had trouble getting one it's so easy, no matter the day of the week and this includes the Cotswolds. If you don't want to find them yourself you can always go to the Tourist Information center of each village and they can book you a room. The B&B's that are listed on the internet and at tourist information center are little higher priced then the ones that are not, since it cost them to be listed.

Try "smoothhound.com" website for B&B's in the UK

I'll (very strongly) recommend a Cotswolds B&B to you: the Old School B&B just outside Moreton in Marsh. Absolutely first-class in every respect - one of the finest B&B's we've ever stayed at - anywhere.

www.smoothhound.co.uk. We once stayed in a tiny village called Kingham. The Moat House. Very quiet and easily accessible to the more popular villages in the Cotswolds. You cannot start thinking about these things too early.

I use Rick's recommendations and Trip Advisor and have never had a bad experience. You get most everything in the area and can also check out restaurants and places to see.
