I'm starting to plan a surprise tour for my musician husband - all around the BEATLES, of course. Can anyone suggest B&B's in London (or a cheap equivalent) and Liverpool? Also a time frame dedicated to just that subject? Thanks.

Beatles Hotel aka Hard Days Night Honeymoon hotel in Liverpool...
Hi Karen,
there's a long article about Liverpool in today's Times newspaper, which I hope you can access at timesonline.co.uk/liverpooltravel.
A lot of it is about the Beatles, I think it would be useful to you.
They mention the hotel that the last poster had told you about- harddaysnighthotel.com and a Beatles Package tour that they run.
Another good address is accliverpool.com/whatson/summerpops.asp
Good luck- what a fabulous treat for your husband!
Probably the best year to visit Liverpool since the Beatles left town as it's Europe's 'Capital of Culture' city this year with all sorts of events & entertainment going on. Look up 'visitliverpool.com" for the details, including much about visiting Beatle venues. Paul is giving a concert there tomorrow - better hurry!
London Walks has two 2-hour long Beatles Walks in London. The guy that leads both tours knows more about the Beatles than anyone.

I am assume then, that you know about the Beatles store a couple doors down from the Sherlock Holmes musuem on Baker Street. Ask for a ticket to the downstairs vault to see the memorabilia.
Don't forget to visit Abbey Road and take your picture at the crosswalk.
The cheapest and best Beatles memorabilia can be had for FREE.
Simply go to Abbey Road in St John's Wood. Tell your husband to take his shoes and socks off and take a photograph of him walking across 'THAT' zebra crossing.
Don't worry, the drivers in the area all know that they have to go really slow around there. On any sunny day there are always at least a handful of Beatles fanatics creating their own version of the cover of the 'Abbey Road' album.
Defintitely do the Beatles walk in London. Actually, I think there are more than one. In Liverpool, take the Magical Mystery Bus Tour. It's a little bit hokey but you will see all the Beatles sites. We loved it. There is a Beatles museum too, but we did not have enough time for it (long story). Sorry I can't recommend a good place to stay.
