We are traveling from Bath to Penzance and are trying to decide between taking the train or renting a car.. any thoughts?
Driving between Bath and Penzance is a nightmare of a road, constant tailbacks and holdups. I’d seriously suggest taking the train and hiring a car when you arrive in Penzance.
I would suggest renting a car and driving to Penzance. We have driven from Bath to Penzance and it wasn't bad. From Bath you would take A367 to A37, take A37 to A303, take 303 to A30, A30 will take you to Penzance. If you took the train it would be a five hour ride and you would have to change trains twice. By driving you could see all the beautiful villages, and could stop to spend time in any of them if you wanted to. You truly would enjoy the drive and all the beauty. Really consider driving.
