I am attempting to purchase advance online tickets to the Roman and Medieval Baths in Bath. However, I notice that there is nowhere to indicate which day I will be visiting. I did see something that said it is good for one year from purchase. Has anyone else done this? Does this sound right?
Why do you want to do that? It's not like there are huge lines or sellouts there. It's possible that that is why there is no day assigned - you can use it any time.
In the RS guidebook and in Ricks recent Facebook post, he recommended purchasing tickets to the Baths in advance. I will be there on a Saturday in June and will be on a tight schedule, so I am trying to pre-purchase tickets to places so I don't have to wait in lines. Other sights that I have bought asked me to select the date and time I would be attending. This one just said it was good for a year which sort of defeats the whole timed entry concept. So I am hoping someone out there has had experience with this sight and can verify that I am doing this right. Thanks!!
I've been to the Roman baths in Bath a few times. There was never more than a few minutes' wait to buy a ticket.
I am familiar with the site, having been there twice, but never encountered a line. With a tight schedule it might be an advantage, but I tend to agree that the lack of a time on the tickets might indicate that you would still wait in line if there is one to get in when you get there. In general, I avoid buying tickets in advance because my schedule is never very set.
Hmm...we were there early Oct last year and we had at least a 30min wait...the line was almost to the Abbey...if you can get adv tix, go for it...
I don't recall a line when we went but I think it's a good idea to buy ahead if you're on a tight schedule. Sorry, I haven't purchased advance tickets so can't answer your specific question.
