Bath, Cotswolds, York, and London in October with a Toddler, Advise?

My husband and I are traveling to England Oct. 2-16 with our 18 month old son. First time and need advise for traveling with a tight budget (need rooms 50GBP or less is possible). How to pack for weather in October? Where to stay? Flying into Heathrow, Bath 3 nights, Cotswolds 3 nights, York 3 nights -staying with cousin, adn London 4 nights. Any advise about any of this is appreciated.
