I'm considering being in Bath and the Cotswolds during the August 29 bank holiday weekend. Will that make it harder to get B&Bs? Rick mentions them in his book as being busier but I'd like to get some input from some locals that post reguarly on this forum.
I am not a local. But I have toured in England over Monday August Bank Holiday and it did make hotel/Inn/B&B /restaurant reservations more difficult. It is Summer, the weather is better than average, and everybody tries to get away for the long weekend. Now I always try and have these reservations booked up early. Mote: Cotswolds are very popular and book up early
Definitely. Book now! A lot of people go away for the bank holiday (the roads can be a nightmare). A lot of people will also use some annual leave and attach it to the bank holiday weekend and go on holiday. I would seriously book now.
I don't know your means of travel for this trip, but if you are traveling by train be prepared for very crowded rail cars. I hit a bank holiday once and my train was standing room only with folks sitting on their luggage.
Yup
definitely busier. book it today.
