We are visiting, stockholm, copenhagen, oslo, helsinki,tallinn and riga on our own from the cruise. I know money exchange is different in every city. I plan to take the '05 book with me. Is there any suggestions for us in these cities to see in one day? Also the best transport from pier to city and not have to exchange alot of money.

Janine, in Stockholm not sure if the Vassa Museum has reopened but that would be great place but for one day..........Gamla Stan - Old Town and the Royal Palace would be a good choice as would a boat tour of the archipelgo (sp?)
in Oslo, the have a museum of Viking ships that is very interesting....the downtown is quite nice and so is the WWII underground museum.

Buy an 08 book -- it will be worth it for the changes. Transportation will vary via port and where the ship docks. The cruise ship will provide you with that info. Hit a TI early to sign up for local tours and to get ahead of the ship's organized tours. ATMs will give small amount of money.

Hi,
Tallinn and Riga have excellent old town centers. take yoru time to wander. Frank is right, get the '08 book it will be well worth it. If yo have the time, book a walking tour. Also, if you are hoping to buy gifts for others, do it in the baltics, your money will go a LOT further. swed3en and Denmark have extremely high taxes.
All these cities you are visiting are right on the water and the old town centers are very close, you can easily walk except Stockholm and Copenhagen I think. If not a taxi will work.
