Has anyone stayed at Ballyseede Castle in Kerry
We did not stay at Ballyseede Castle, but I noticed it is in our AAA Ireland/Britian guide and it is given 4-stars. We stayed at Abbeyglen Castle in Co. Galway, also 4-star. It wasn't actually a castle like I imagined a castle, but it sure was a fun place to stay. The people who work there make sure you know that you are a very honored and welcomed guest. They offer complimentary champagne before dinner, a free tea in the afternoon for guests, and a fantastic dinner. Breakfast was great and was included in our room charge. We were also given a discount for dinner. People of many nationalities were staying at the castle and the staff puts a flag of your nationality on your table during meals. We also noticed many Irish families were at dinner celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. Quite a few of the Irish stopped at our table to welcome us to their country. We also looked into staying at Ashford Castle in Galway, but decided it was too expensive. We did see this castle which is near Cong Abbey. It looks beautiful.
