Has anyone stayed at Rick's suggestion of Baker's Hotel close to Victoria Station? If so, please elaborate. Keep traveling!
Hi Charlene, No I haven't stayed in this place but I did read on the Bakers Hotel site that it is pretty marginal and I have stayed in places like that in times past. If you are 2 people I think I would ask for the 3 bed room as my rememberence of the el cheapo I stayed in was not for normal sized people....only midgets....maybe by now you have found some space elsewhere and are willing to pay a bit more for the comfort!
Good luck kiddo!
Mollie
Go to Tripadvisor and look up Baker's hotel. I looked into staying here and decided not to because of the comments I found. I am staying at the Falcon Hotel near Paddington Station. Great reviews and the correspondence between them has been great. They are giving us a 5% discount because of our consecutive days although we have them split up. Very accommodating. Good location as we leave from Paddington Station to tour England and Wales then returning back to the USA.
The Bakers is probably best avoided - where location and price are perhaps the only attractions. Its one of many similar hotels in the area, not far above a hostel in standard of accommodion.
Victoria is a good location, if you want a twin of arounf $150 or lesss try easyHotel, Jubilee or Brindle Hotels, all in Victoria.
(Kings Cross/ St Pancras is the best district for low cost accommodation though)
