Back from Theatre areas solo at night.

I'd like to go at a play; I'd be coming home at 10-11pm solo a couple of times.....
Two questons:

1-Coming home at 10-11pm from Notting Hill or Kennsington High tube....is that pretty safe? Or, would it be a better idea to get a taxi?

2-Does anyone know how much a taxi from Theatre district to Kensington might run?
Or some other idea (mix of transport to maximize value)

Thanks!

Chrissy, I stayed in London for a week earlier this year, and I was out every night. I was staying in the area near the museums and the nearest tube station was Kensington High. It was fine. I would suggest the usual advice- always stay aware of what's going on around you. And I didn't carry a pocketbook. Best wishes, Maggie.

Notting Hill and Ken High Street are about as safe a it gets.

Just use common sense. Both areas are part of the 24 hour city. If you feel uneasy at any time just hold your hand up and yell 'TAXI !'. A black cab will miraculously appear.

A Black Cab from Theatreland to Ken High Street or Notting Hill is going to be about GBP25.00. A one way ticket on the tube is GBP4.00.

It is difficult at times to get a cab after the theatre. You will be fine, I have done it a lot of times with no problems. As Al said, you just have to use common sense.
