B&Bs in southern Ireland

We are planning a 1 week visit to the south and west of Ireland by car in June. Do we need to have B&Bs booked ahead of time or can we keep the trip flexible and just stop where we are at the end of the day with the good possibility of finding a nice B&B?

Since you are traveling in June, you might want to book at least your first night. B&Bs are plentiful, and it shouldn't be too tough to find one just about anywhere that you might want to stop. They aren't necessarily in towns, they are also on farms, so keep your eyes open when you start getting ready to stop for the day. I have been to Ireland several times (but never in tourist season) and I never book ahead.

Hi, as long as you're not traveling on the first weekend of June you should be fine (first weekend is a holiday weekend). Might also book any Saturday night but you can leave it to a day or 2 before. Enjoy your trip! Sherri

For what it's worth, we always book ahead. That way we can research the place ahead of time and not spend time on the side of the road, phone in hand, trying to find a place for the night. It also allows us to be sure we are going to be assured of a good place to stay. Of course that only works if you have a well planned trip and know where you will be staying ahead of time.
