B&Bs in Oban

I've contacted (Emailed, actually) the Granmarvin Guest House in Oban three times over a period of 3 weeks and have heard nothing. It looked really inviting, but now I'm looking for suggestions for another place to stay. I'm not going until September, but I know that B&Bs fill up quickly. Any advice for places in Oban? Thanks!

We spent 1 night at the Corriemar House in Oban a few years ago. It was a good location and clean. Typical UK b & b. There were others nearby.

Hi Jan,
Last September I had the pleasure of visiting Oban and stayed at the Glenburnie House. Overall a good experience, but if I were to return I would choose to stay at Kilchrenan House. I adored Oban - bustling (and charming) little seaport with great dining (try Ee'usk restaurant). The day trip to the isles of Mull and Iona was extraordinary, and I highly recommend it.

Another vote for Kilchrenan House. We loved it -- very charming hosts and very good breakfasts, two of the key things we look for in a B&B.

Thanks All! I've made plans to stay at Raniven. This is a great community of travelers! Once I return from my trip, I hope to repay the favors. Jan

Thanks Bev and Carroll! I was looking at Ranvenin Guest House, which is a bit less "expensive." (A relative term, I know.) You've been there. From what you've seen, is Kilchrenan worth the extra 20 euros a night? (I'm on a fixed income.)

Your replies are much appreciated! Jan

We stayed at Heatherfield House last August & I would highly recommend it. Charming & spotless home, great breakfast, very helpful & friendly owners. We easily walked to the "downtown" and the harbor.

I stayed at the Ranevin Guesthouse in 2008 and found it very satisfactory. A very short walk to town and the promenade, clean attractive room, good breakfast and snacks available during the day, kind and welcoming hosts, and a nice dog, Scooby. My only wish would have been for a lounge.

Sorry, I did not see your question, Jan, before you made up your mind. I really couldn't answer your question anyway since I haven't stayed at the other place. I always check Trip Advisor before I book any rooms. I hope you enjoy your stay!
