Hi, I am traveling to Cork City for 2 nights in mid-April. I have read Rick Steves' Ireland Guidebook and noticed he does not have a section on Cork City. I know he recommends Kinsale or Cobh, but I will be visiting a friend who attends the University College Cork and would like to stay in Cork City. Does anyone have any recommendations for a B&B? I have been advised by my friend to find a B&B on Western Rd., near University College Cork, but there are quite a few to choose from and I don't know where to start. This is my 1st solo trip and I want to make sure I start it off right. Thank you!

Thank you Joel! I will look into that website. :) Laura
Hi Laura, I'm heading to Cork in June to meet up with a friend who lives up the road in Lismore. She recommended Sheila's Hostel. She also said the Jury's Inn was a good deal. Happy travels, Carol
I know you're looking for B&Bs, but I thought I'd throw this out there - the River Lee Hotel Cork. It's very nice, decently priced, well-located, and within walking distance of the campus. I do prefer a stay in Kinsale or Cobh over Cork City, but if you're with a friend I'm sure you'll have a fun time.
Thank you, Carol. I will look into the hostel. Happy and safe travels to you! Thank you for the suggestion Catherine. I will look into that as well. I too would prefer to stay in Kinsale or Cobh but my friend attends University College Cork.
