Can anyone recommend a B & B in Windsor? We plan to stay there our last night in England before flying home from Heathrow Airport. Thanks for your help.
It's not a B&B, but the Castle hotel is nice! It is even mentioned by Bill Bryson in his book "Notes from a Small Island". We loved our rooms the times we stayed there. Be sure to take a walk through Windsor Castle's rose gardens. Also, a walk over the bridge to Eton is nice and you can take a short cruise down the Thames. There are also great unique shops all over Windsor.
This is a nice B&B~www.bbandbwindsor.comthe Castle Hotel is nice but a little expensive the normal rate is around £200 per night, but they do have specials a lot of the time.
Windsor is quite an expensive townn that carries over into accommodation rates.
Exception to the rule is the Travelodge Windsor right in the centre by the train station into London and only a minutes walk from Windsor Castle.
Room rates are anywhere from 19 to 60 GBP - a bargain for the town, and the hotel is only about one year old.
We stayed at Barbara's B&B as well. She was lovely, the room was very comfortable, and had easy access to the town.
We have stayed at the Clarence Hotel several times in Windsor the night before flying out. It's a small B&B hotel, not too expensive, about a block off Peascod St (main shopping street)and convenient to the castle. They can organize a taxi to LHR for you.
A very nice small boutique hotel is the Hotel Christopher in Eton (NOT Sir Christopher Wren's House hotel.)
