B&B's in Oban Scotland

Hello!

My wife and I are planning 2 nights in Oban in September - has anyone had any experiences with a nice B & B there as a base for touring Mull, Iona and Staffa?

Thanks!

Cory.

My Wife and I are a big fan of Strumhor. They are a couple of minutes outside the City Centre with some incredible views.

Olga and Tony were great hosts and you really felt really welcome to come out and make use of the common areas during your time at the B+B. If that wasn't your thing there were books and DVDs to borrow.

I believe Tony also does Kayak trips if that is your sorta thing.

We enjoyed the Glenburnie--lovely room overlooking the water. Great breakfast and walking distance to the ferries, restaurants, etc.

I just got back from Scotland and stayed three nights in Oban at the Kilchrennan House. I recommend it highly. Good location -- short walk to the center of the town, very quiet, and beautiful views. Very friendly and helpful owners. Very good breakfasts. Their website is very helpful. I don't recall the url, but you can Google it.

The Glenburnie is wonderful. It had one of the best rooms and baths I had in Europe and it definitely had the top breakfast. If you stay there, ask if Agnes, is still there and say hello. Be sure to go to the Oban Inn for food & drinks. It is wonderful.
