I'm traveling to London at the end of August. My usual favorite small hotel is closed for renovation. Any suggestions for a good B&B in central London at a moderate price? (Well, a cheap price.) I'd really appreciate it.
There are several near Victoria Station (Ebury Street in Belgravia). It's been awhile since we've been there, but still see some of the places recommended.
If you stay in Bloomsbury by the british museum there are a lot of inexpensive, small clean hotels. Paula Frommer has a guide book called something like what to avoid in london or something, I cant remember but it lists a bunch of these hotels. Regency House Hotel is one such. I think the Ridgemont is another she recommends. There's about a dozen such. You can look them up on Tripadvisor or you can check out the book by going to amazon with her name and seeing what it might be.
I have stayed at the Ridgemount on Gower Street. It is a friendly place, good breakfast, nice front desk people, and convenient to buses and the tube.
If you can't find a B+B (which is unlikely) try this for an apartment http://www.central-london-apartments.com/
I'm staying at Morgan House on Ebury St, near Victoria Station. L52 for a single with a great breakfast!
