B&B London September 2011

Does anyone have a suggestion for a B&B or small hotel in London? We will be staying 7 nights, Sept 9-16. We would like to pay around £85 including taxes if possible. We will need a twin room. We will not have a car. Thanks.

Try smoothhound.com as they do list London b&b's. We haven't used them for London but other areas in UK and were happy.

Take a look at Hyde Park Rooms in Paddington. They have a very good rating on tripadvisor, and their rates are within your budget. It's a good time of year to visit London too, my wife are going to be there from September 6-16th!

Here are a few: Cherry Court Hotel http://www.cherrycourthotel.co.uk/ Arosfa Hotel http://arosfalondon.com/ St Margaret's Hotel and Celtic Hotel http://www.celtichotel.com/stmlocation.htm If none of those work out, try http://www.londontown.com/ or http://www.wotif.com/ for discounted hotels. You can find traveler reviews and traveler pictures of hotels at http://www.tripadvisor.com/ and traveler reviews at http://www.booking.com/index.en.html Good luck!

The Bridge Hotel, on the south side of the river, about 20 mins walking distance from Westminster, et al. http://thebridgehotel.net/ Good prices and lots of options on room styles.

Try http://www.athomeinlondon.co.uk/. We've booked with them for 5 nights in July. There are many options available in different parts of London. A friend stays in the Penn Club in Bloomsbury and it might be a good option.
I also try Trip Advisor to read the ratings once I get a suggestion.

I can also second the recommendation for the Penn Club. Also try the Arran House Hotel. Both of these are close to the British Museum, in Bloomsbury.

I stayed at the BB Belgravia which is right around the corner from Victoria Station in November. Might be a little higher than you want to pay but I thought it was divine. I've paid more for less in London but this was worth the money 99 pounds. The breakfast lasts you for the day. Very modern and clean in a very quiet neighbourhood. I've also stayed at the Hotel Phoenix off Bayswater. It's a much busier neighbourhood but it's got a good selection of restaurants and a shopping mall and movie theatre across the street. Easy access to Bayswater Tube Station and Paddington Station.

Accommodation options include intimate, boutique hotels for that special get-away, discounted cheap deals in budget lodgings and Long-Stay Accommodation Apartments in London that will particularly suit the business traveller.

I just returned from London and we stayed at the Vandon House Hotel - http://www.vandonhouse.com/. It's owned by a private college in Iowa and 99% of the rooms are twins. It's near Buckingham Palace and the location was great for sightseeing; St James' Park tube stop is very close. It's modestly furnished. I especially liked the lounge that had 4 computers at a very reasonable rate and the breakfasts included cheese and ham, which was more than the usual continental breakfast. They offer a discount for 7 nights or more. This place is in Rick Steves' book.
