You don't have to worry about being "safe", any place you decide to stay at would be safe.

I use http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/ to find a B&B. We have always had good luck finding a place to stay using them. In fact, I just found a B&B in Bourton-On-The-Water for our trip next month.
