B&B in Bath

Hello fellow travelers, My family and I (husband, self, plus 2 kids, daughter 21, son 16) are planning our trip to the UK for August 2012. I'm looking for accommodation in Bath for two nights and I'm going cross-eyed with all the choices. We would love to hear your recommendations. Here's some of our parameters to help you: Prefer to stay in city of Bath We like a king bed if possible, but double is fine Kids don't mind sharing a room if there are two twin beds (and cost-wise, this would be better) Are "family rooms" something that would work with older kids? We have no special needs, dietary or otherwise We will have a car Prefer to stay around 50 - 80 GBP/night/room
We love historical locations Do you have a place that you can recommend to us? I'd love to hear your experiences. We're very open to advice and suggestions having never been to this area of England before. Thanks in advance!

Parade Park Hotel in Bath may have double and twin rooms in this price range. They are a short walk from the train station. Their website says there is public parking for 12 GBP per night. I've stayed there and will return for a night in April.

In general, hotel prices are higher in Bath on weekends than during the week, so if your schedule allows, you may want to avoid Friday and Saturday nights. The Henry is a B&B that has a family room. I didn't have a car, but their website says there is a car park acorss the street for £12 per day. http://www.thehenry.com/rooms,intro.htm Take a look at Three Abbey Greene, which also has a family room. Their double rooms are a little above your budget (but your budget is a little low for what you are seeking): http://www.threeabbeygreen.com/homepage,intro.htm Anabelles Guest House: No family rooms, but the twin and double rooms are within your budget. http://www.anabellesguesthouse.co.uk/home,intro.htm Check tripadvisor for traveler reviews and pictures of the above hotels: http://goo.gl/5CyeL While in Bath you might like the free walking tour: http://goo.gl/RA4wz

My wife and I recommend a nice B&B called The Bath House where we stayed 2 years ago. Their rates were slightly more than your maximum, but I see on their website that they may offer apartments now, too. Might be worth a look in any case: thebathhouse.org

The place we stayed a few years ago meets all your criteria except price. VRBO listing #11871 is on the historic Pultney bridge and the first picture on the website is taken directly from the living room. It was myself, wife and 2 teenagers. The owners werre awesome, the location is in the heart of the city and the views were aresome. Have a great trip

i stayed at the Parade Park Hotel a few yrs ago as well. it's probably one of the cheapest place in town, but clean room with good breakfast. location is great, bar downstairs closes around 10 or 11, so it's very quite after hour. in general you need to prepare for small rooms in UK, it's expensive to get bigger rooms, so i'd just forget about king size bed.
