Can anyone tell me if you can drop off your rental car at the Avis office in Moreton in Marsh after hours? Our train leaves before their office opens. Thanks

If you don't get an answer here you can call them at 011 44 844 544 6114 or since the Avis office is run in conjunction with the White Hart Royal hotel, you can e-mail them at whr@bulldogmail.co.uk. I went to a family wedding reception there many a moon ago.

If you leave a rental car after hours, the rental car office can claim you damaged the car, even if you didn't. Taking photos will help, but they could still claim damage to the undercarriage, wheel wells, etc. Assuming Avis operates in a similar fashion to Hertz, you cannot dispute what you consider unfair charges with USA Avis - you would have to deal with their UK office. It isn't worth the hassle; you want that signed paper you get when you return the car.

Best to drop-off your car the day before. I would never leave a rental car without having the office sign-off on it, in person. We stayed at the Swan Inn when we were in MIM in May. Clean, quiet and reasonable price.
