We will be in London the middle of October and was just wondering if there will be some pretty fall colors like we have in the NE here in the states?
My first trip to London was the last two weeks in October. Everything was still very green. I loved the cool crispness of the air though.
I was in London last November 8th - 18th. There was some foiage changing color but nothing like we see in the mid-atlantic states.
We were in London the beginning of November and I also do not recall the vibrant fall foliage I get back home. It has something to do with the "succession of warm, sunny days and cool, crisp but not freezing nights", so I think London's weather patterns is not conducive to it.
However, we did plan a lovely walk through Hyde Park with afternoon tea and enjoyed it very much.
Well you have a lot of sugar maples and other North American trees that turn vibrant colors (usually) in the Fall. Fewer trees with those bright Fall color attributes in England (not to say there're aren't some). On the other hand they have all those wonderful flowering chestnut trees in the Spring. London in October is lovely and is one of my two favorite seasons to be there (May being the other).
