I am taking a group of artists (oil painters) to Dingle, Ireland next year. We will stay for two weeks. Is there enough to see/do/paint for two weeks or should we lodge in one place and move on to another lodge the second week. We hope to be able to walk to most everything while carrying our gear. Any suggestions? Thanks!
In my opinion, the see/do part may be stretched a bit thin in two weeks. If they are primarily motivated by painting, they should have plenty of subjects and scenery available.
Thanks for your response!
I am a professional photographer and have been there and spent time photographing, and do some painting and sketching as well and I agree with previous post...two weeks might be a bit long for Dingle. There are lots of additional places you could add to give some variety and new inspiration. How far from Dingle would you want to travel?
Kenmare would be a good location for the second week - lots of variety within an hour's drive. Or you might consider Roundstone or Clifden for Connemara scenery.
Thank you all so much for your help. I will research the other areas suggested. Lots of pressure when I am the group leader and I want this to be an amazing art adventure. I will look into a different area for our second week. Can anyone suggest a nice lodge in Dingle that can accommodate 12 artists, with spectacular views, and moderate priced? Thanks!
Thanks Sharon, will do.
In Dingle, you might look into the Hideout Hostel. It has a combination of group dorms and private rooms at reasonable rates. I found the location very convenient for walking all around town.
