Looking to rent a 1 bedroom apartment - can you recommend agencies/locations, etc. Thanks
I've had really good experiences with VRBO.com. In fact, I used them to locate our the flat for our recent trip. We just returned from two weeks yesterday morning. I've also used them in Paris, Hawaii and Florida. It's easy to use and they usually have plenty of photographs and you can review comments from other guests. Try this website;
http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/europe/united-kingdom/england/london
Here's another http://www.homefromhome.co.uk/site/
And another http://www.heartoflondon.com/
and one more http://www.apartments4london.com/
I tend to stay a little closer in and usually something off of the picadilly line since it's a straight shot from Heathrow, but truly, it's whatever your personal preference is.
Have a great trip!
I'd think twice before using VRBO.com. I was given the runaround and it turned out they had stolen a listing from another company, and then tried to bait-and-switch me into another place. When I insisted that I wanted the property I had seen on their site, they claimed my card wouldn't go through. I called the other company with the same listing, and they told me the owners name and said they had listed it with them for many years.
I went with 'In The English Manner' and we stayed in a very nice two bed two bath apartment in South Kensington. It was an idea location for us, quiet at night, close to sights and a couple excellent grocery stores right by the station (Gloucester Road).
