We are three middle-aged adults from Seattle traveling to the UK in mid-May. We'll be staying by the southeastern shore of Esthwaite Water, west of Lake Windermere, in the southern part of the Lake District. We'll have a rental car.
We'll get there late afternoon of one day. Then we'll have a full day for a day trip to see what we can of the Lake District. The following day, we'll need to leave mid-day or early afternoon, driving towards Edinburgh in Scotland. If you know the area and could provide recommendations or advice for a day trip that would show us some of the beautiful landscape of the Lake Dist, or a scenic drive towards Edinburgh the following day, I would appreciate it greatly. Thank you very much in advance! Andrew
