Trying to buy and book a ferry ticket in Scotland at the CalMac site. Always reports an error. The site warns of extra security for foreign card users. Emailed them, to no avail. Has anyone been able to make it work?

I'll call them in the morning. Just a bit annoyed that they seem to be blocking U.S. cards.

It happens. I'm not sure what the rational, but I know that there are other sites with the same policy. Don't let it color your trip. ; ) Pam

I had problems recently getting East Coast train tickets with my Visa card. After getting really annoyed trying, I tried my MasterCard and it worked first time.

All is well. CalMac did good. They realized gtheir site was having problems and emailed me, offering to call me at a time of my choosing.
