Any thoughts on Evan Evans Tours in London?

Hi all - we will be in London for just 48 hours and are looking for a good basic, cover as much as we can tour. A travelagent friend recommended Evan Evans tours. Anyone used them? Thoughts? I was going to simply go with Big BUs Tours..but she thinks Evans would be better.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I think your original idea is best. Take one of the hop-on, hop-off tours on a 48 hour ticket. (Assuming you don't plan to leave London--and with only two days, I wouldn't suggest it.)

On separate trips, I have taken their tours of Oxford/Stratford/Warwick, City of London, and Windsor/Runnymede. I have always been very pleased with the tours. The guides are very knowledgable and friendly. Since I was travelling alone, it was nice to meet people from other countries on the tours. It was also nice to have someone else take care of the logistics- transportation, tickets etc.

You seem to be just concerned with Central London. In which case just take one of the HOHO buses, Big Bus or Original London Tour. They're cheaper, you'll see more and they're more flexible.

Evan Evans and such like really come in their own when you want to visit places outside of London

IN London- hop on/off. Evans Evans is great for day trips, etc. that you don't want to "do yourself"

No real difference between Big Bus and Original London Tour.
If you are staying in the Glouctser Road area of Kensington, Baywater or Paddington then Big Bus will be better as one of their main routes goes through the hotel districts here whilst Original do not.

It is a reliable option for getting a day trip bus tour...book via the website....very easy to do and the show up the Victoria Coach Station (not the same as Victoria station!)....enjoy. David, Pleasant Hill, CA
