I recently booked a shared van with SKYshuttle. Now I recveived an e-mail saying they are no longer in business as of Feb. 1. Does anybody have any good experiences with a shared shuttle service? Last year we used Dot2Dot. It folded and became SKYshuttle. Now it has folded. Thank you. Elaine, Mission Viejo, Calif. USA

With the demise of SkyShuttle there are no shared shuttle services left. Its doubtful if another will ever rise in the forseeable future.
The big problem is that shared shuttle have been squeezed out by taxi's and the excellent public transport. With Skyshuttle if there was more than one of you it was cheaper to order a taxi - only those ignorant of this used the service.
If you search for Simply Airports or Just Airports and order a taxi - its cheaper.

For the sake of clarity, Simply Airports and Just Airports are private car services, not taxi companies (at least not in the way we use the word "taxi" in the US).

Elaine - While we haven't taken our trip just yet...I've booked with Holiday Taxis dot com - Jo is the woman that I've talked to & emailed. She has made the whole process a breeze for this first timer.
