We will be in Edinburgh for 2 days, then we plan to fly to Barcelona and spend 3 days there. We went to www.wegolo.com and compared flights. Seems like Globespan airline would fly us there for about $200 one way. Question: is Globespan a reliable airline? Any suggestions on flights from Edinburgh to Barcelona? (we are just looking for one-way ticket at this point since we will continue on to Italy). Thanks, Kathy
Please tell us when you are flying otherwise we can't help you.

Not sure if they fly from Scotland, but Click air.com flies to many Spanish cities, and they are inexpensive and reliable.
I did a search on expedia.com and British Airways, Ibernia, Lufthansa and Air Europe all came up with one connection. Scots fly south to Spain all the time. It's one of their favorite vacation destinations. So, you might also want to search out some UK based sites and see what types of packages are offered. I remember walking past travel agents with very low prices for vacations in Spain. Pam

Check whichbudget.com for a list of discount airlines that may fly that route....although at this late date, you may have to grab what you can get, since cheaper airline tickets go very early. Globespan's a reputable "charter"airline....no better or worse than any others.
I went to this site http://www.barrheadtravel.co.uk/ and found tickets for around 108 pounds. I can't tell what the airline is without entering info, but it might be worth exploring. You could post on tripadvisor forums to see if they are reputable. Tripadvisor has lots of locals on the forums. Pam
The only nonstop on the 13th between EDI and BCN is on flyglobespan...for about 122 GBP.
On the 16th, you can fly between Barcelona and Rome on Vueling or Clickair starting at 50 Euros.
Globespan has had financial difficulties flying to North America but you could try Ryanair or Easyjet although you may have to travel vis London. I also have a preference for Air Berlin for flying around Europe.
Thanks all for your many suggestions. I will certainly check into them. ~Kat
Just out of curiosity, I checked out Easy Jet flights one way from Edinburgh to Madrid (couldn't see flights to Barcelona). What a difference two months make to the price. One way flying out on 31st August GBP175.00. Same flight two months later on 30th october GBP32.99. Always knew it was cheaper to travel off peak, but this much cheaper!!!!
EasyJet and the other low cost carriers (LCCs) are a bit of a special case. Their sales model really rewards early booking.
