Air Conditioning in London in September?

Hello,

We're going to London in September and I've read some of the hotels can be hot and stuffy. I've only found one hotel that has air conditioning in the room, the Park Inn Hyde Park, most in that price range (99 pounds a night) seem to not have it.

Any opinions? I heard it gets pretty humid in London.

Sure, especially earlier in month there might be some fairly warm/humid days. Although don't worry a "hot/stuffy day" here is 80 F. Most of the non chain hotels don't have AC as most days here there isn't a need and open windows suffice.

One suggestion try hotwire.com or something like that. A couple months ago we ended up at the hilton on 65 pounds a night which had an AC.

Wow, the Hilton for 65 pounds! That is a score and a half. We'd love to stay at the Hilton Hyde Park but it's 120 pounds a night which is too high. We're trying to stay under 100 pounds and I'm down to a couple now, one in Paddington and one nearer to Hyde Park and I can't sleep if the room is too hot.

If you can find a hotel room in London for less than 100 pounds a night that is decent and reasonably located, go for it.

There are plenty in the 85-100 pound range in great locations and highly rated too. But A/C seems like something worth having.

Try Base2stay --- near Earl's Court Tube has air conditioning and it is a wonderful place........ 127 pounds ............. we stayed there in May and loved it!

Oh yes, another suggestion....use TRIP ADVISOR. I recommend it to get feedback/reviews from hotel guest WITH their photos and the informaation is always current. I especially looked for hotel reviews where the management of the hotel responded to complaints.

That is how I finally decided on Base2stay...I checked the reviews daily before we were in Europe last month.

I like to consider the following: does it have AC, can I get a good night's sleep, pleasant surroundings, safe neighborhood, access and value .....

This might help you make your decision........
