As part of a larger vacation, we are planning 5 days in Denmark. We had our sights set on 3 days in Copenhagen and 2 days in Aeroskobing. However, the more I get into Aeroskobing the more it feels like a whole lot of money, time, and hassle to go to a place that is supposed to be about relaxing. All of the hotels are in excess of $200/night, and it will take 4 hours each way to get there. The alternatives to staying in an expensive place in Areoskobing would require a car, which is terribly expensive in Denmark. Am I missing an option? Is there an island that will give a similar experience that is easier to get to from Copenhagen? I know a cheap 35 minute flight gets you to Bornholm, but I don't know if that will be the same. It would be perfect if there was an interesting, laid back island that is a reasonable ferry ride from Copenhagen. Does that exist? Ideas?
