Which airlines, Aer Lingus or Ryanair, would you recommend for a quick flight, Edinburgh to Dublin? We travel very light and the schedule and price for either would work for us.

Whichever one suits your schedule or price range. Everything else being equal, Ryanair has a larger carryon allowance than Aer Lingus, but both are fine.

As Nancy stated, the difference in carry-on allowance is big.
Ryanair's is 22 pounds. Aer Lingus is 13 pounds.
I'm planning to take the same flight and will probably take Ryanair because of the carry-on allowance.
