Hello! I am set to embark on a 19 day trip to Finland (Helsinki area) with a few days in St. Petersburg. I'm going was a part of a class for nursing program. The airfare, accomidations, some meals ( in additon to breakfast which is included in the room charge), and transportation is included. What is a reasonable amount to budget per day for myself? I was thinking around $50.00 USD? Is that too low?
It sounds like the only money you'll spend is to buy things or musuem tickets. Maybe some meals, snacks or drinks. In that case, it really depends on how much sight-seeing you'll do, if you like to visit musuems and how much you drink. Alchohol is very expensive in Finland, so expect $10-20 per drink if out at bars or cafes. But alchohol aside, I'd think about $50 per day is right for just incedentals. Figure in any other fixed costs that you know you will have to cover seperately.
Thanks! I have my orientation tomorrow and our instructor will be giving us a breakdown of our days as well as give us information about 'side trips' available to us at that time. I am getting very excited to go- we leave May 4th!
